Sending Tracings or Originals to Terrapin Guitars

This page contains information about what I need to do your job if you are sending an original or a tracing or anything else to me.

When sending your original pick guard or a tracing or anything else, PLEASE include the following with your shipment. If any of this information is not included then it may result in delays in processing your order. I will probably not remember details from a phone conversation.

INCLUDE:

Name
Address
Phone Number
Email

A copy of our email correspondence if you have it. I will not search through old email to figure out what you want. It will even be helpful if you highlight the key points in the email.

What you want done - for example.

What material color you want your pick guard or project made out of.
What pickup configuration you want
What control configuration you want.

Mark the beveled edges on the tracing.

I DO NOT accept tracings that you scan and send by email as a JPG or PDF or any other format.

I DO NOT accept photocopies or scans that have been printed out.

I only accept tracings by regular mail.

Watch the How to Make A Tracing Video. or Read about How to Make a Tracing here.

Send packages to:

Terrapin Guitars LLC
PO Box 11565
Eugene, OR 97440

No need to express mail anything. It will not speed up the process in any way unless you have paid a rush fee of $15.00. I cannot always accept RUSH orders.

Digital Files

I will accept digital vector based graphic files for template cutting at a reduced template fee but you must adhere to the following guidelines.

The best files to send me are vector files created in programs such as Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw. I personally use Corel Draw 14 but I can accept Illustrator files. If sending Illustrator files they must be provided as a version 8 file or a CS uncompressed file. PDF vector files are also acceptable.

Please note that many of these vector programs today have an auto trace feature for tracing bitmaps. Occasionally I get someone who says they are sending me a good vector file but I can see that they just used an auto trace to create the file and this is not acceptable as a vector file for cutting a pick guard template. Auto traced files are never as clean as when you trace things by hand in the program using the bezier tool
.

The main thing in all of this is be specific and complete in what you send me. You don't need to write a book on the subject but just be clear.

Read the Frequently Asked Questions and the Help Pages before you contact me.

All of the above guidelines need to be followed in order for your pick guard order to be completed in a timely and efficient quality manner.

Be advised that when you send me anything and get an order started you are agreeing to my Terms and Conditions
